Zou Shiming China’s Olympic gold medal winner steps back into the ring as he attempts to win his first-ever world title. A celebrated amateur boxer and three-time Olympic medallist Zou Shiming is putting his undefeated pro record on the line to challenge undefeated International Boxing Federation (IBF) flyweight world champion Amnat Ruenroeng. Zou and Amnat fought three times as amateurs, Amnat winning the first fight with Zou winning their last two contests.
The undercard bouts include an IBF light welterweight title eliminator between unbeaten Chinese puncher Ik Yang (18-0-0-1, 13 KOs) and Thailand’s Patomsuk Pathompothong (30-2-1, 18 KOs), as well as an NABO junior middleweight title contest between Australian fighter Daniel Dawson (40-4-1, 26 KOs) and American boxer Glen Tapia (22-1, 14 KOs).
Also fighting in separate bouts are two local favourites – undefeated super welterweight prospect “The Macao Kid” Ng Kuok Kun (6-0, 2 KOs) and Hong Kong’s undefeated Top-Five super flyweight contender Rex “The Wonder Kid” Tso (15-0, 9 KOs), who will be fighting for the vacant WBA international super flyweight title.
