McLaren Parade 2018

McLaren Hong Kong kicked off the year with their annual McLaren New Year Parade on 14 January 2018, with the largest group of local McLaren owners ever. The line-up featured cars from the McLaren Sports and Super Series including the latest 720S and limited editions of McLaren 675LT, 650S Can-Am and 650S Le Mans.

McLaren 720S Debuts in Hong Kong

The first second generation McLaren supercar the 720S made it’s debut locally yesterday after it’s recent global launch at the Geneva Motor Show.

The mid-engined, rear-wheel-drive, two-seat McLaren is the successor to the 650 Series. The completely redesigned carbon-fibre body is kilograms lighter than the previous edition. While the new twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 engine produces 720PS (hence the name) and 770Nm, with a power-to- weight ratio of up to 561PS per tonne.

What those numbers translate to, on roads where you can safely enjoy it, is 0-60mph in 2.8 seconds! And a top speed of 212 mph. 0-200 km/h takes 7.8 seconds, while braking from 200 km/h to standstill is almost half that, just 4.6 seconds and covering 117m.

Perhaps the most noticeable changes though are the sharp new profile with sculptured air intakes on the sides replacing the radiator and the increased amount of interior space. The 720S feels much bigger inside and is certainly easier to get into and out of.

McLaren 570GT Launch @ LKF – 8 September, 2016

McLaren launched the new 570GT in Lan Kwai Fong with a road full of McLarens and friendly VIP party for current and future owners.

The 570GT, part of the Sports series, premiered at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this year and the improved aerodynamics have significantly reduced drag and increased fuel efficiency without compromising the classic McLaren lines. A 3.8-litre twin turbo V8 engine generates 562bhp and means the road legal 570GT reaches 60mph (100km/h) in 3.4 seconds and has a top speed of 204mph (328km/h)!

Interesting fact: it takes the 570GT 33m or 108 feet to brake from 100km/h to a complete stop and 413 feet (126m) from 200km/h.

McLaren Sports Series Launch @ Shaw Studios – 17 December, 2015

McLaren launched their new Sports Series at Shaw Studios to an excited group of existing and aspiring owners on the 17 December, 2015. The 570S is McLaren’s version of a town car – it even includes such niceties as door pockets, glove box and a vanity mirror. The newest kid on the block, the 570S, features a twin-turbo 3.8-liter V-8 (562hp), sequential seven-speed gearbox, ceramic brakes and an adaptive suspension – all for a base price under US$200,000. McLaren says the 570S can hit 60 mph in 3.2 seconds.
