Chimeras Infree Sessions – 9 April, 2021

Local band Chimeras performed a wonderful acoustic set at Infree Records Mongkok store on the 9 April, 2021. Usually a 5 piece symphonic doom metal outfit, band members Friase and Andy rearranged the group’s songs for a piano and vocals acoustic set.

As you can hear on the video which was live-streamed on Youtube, the result is quite stunning.

David Colquhoun RIP

Sadly bc magazine has learned that local music legend Davie Colquhoun unexpectedly passed away on New Years Day.

Davie was a long time stalwart of the local music scene performing both in bands, including Soul Commotion, Hattrick, and his famed solo acoustic sessions.

While many of you might remember Davie for his musical covers, he was also a talented songwriter releasing several solo albums including Strapped and  Short and Sweet.

Davie your smile and smokey vocals entertained so many of us over the years in good times and bad, thank you!

Live Music at the Wanch, Hong Kong

HOCC Live – 11 April, 2020

Over the Easter weekend local singer Denise Ho, known as HOCC, live-streamed a free online concert to as she put it “Get together with everyone and cheer you with music.”

The two hour show was streamed live on youtube and facebook and has been uploaded to Ho’s Youtube channel.

American singer-songwriter Jason Mraz has sold over 7 million albums worldwide since the release of his 2002 debut studio album Waiting for My Rocket to Come, which contained the hit single The Remedy (I Won’t Worry). Commercial success, three more studio albums Mr. A-Z, (2005), We Sing. We Dance. We Steal Things (2008), Love Is a Four Letter Word, (2010), multiple hit singles and two Grammy Awards have followed. In 2014 Mraz released his first acoustic album (and fifth studio album) Yes. Recorded and written with Raining Jane – the pair are undertaking a global tour to support its release and arrive in Hong Kong on the 27 March.
