Fame
A remake of the 1980 blockbuster and Oscar-winning film of the same title, Kevin Tancharoen’s Fame stars a group of young and talented new performers portraying the uneasy path to stardom of students attending the New York City High School for the Performing Arts. Apart from finding their feet as upcoming artists, the students’ struggles include academic studies, friendships, family and love. The film opens on October 1 and now we have 10 pairs of ticket together with a special edition of the Fame logo pins to give away. To get yours, tell us one of the two Oscars the original film won.

Astro Boy
The most recognized character created by legendary manga master Osamu Tezuka, Astro Boy finally arrives on the silver screen care of Hollywood. Directed by David Bowers and set in the futurist Metro City, the film depicts the battle of the superhero robot to protect the Earth from an alien race threatening to destroy the planet. Stars like Nicolas Cage, Charlie Theron and Samuel L Jackson have done voice-overs for the film – we have 15 pairs of tickets to the English version preview on October 18 at 4pm at MCL Telford to give away. Jazz Festival
Spread it: The Hong Kong International Festival 2009 is offering a series of free concerts for the festival period between October 1-15. On October 1 at 6pm Japanese guitarist Yosuke Onuma and Youn Sun Nah Quartet with Eugene Pao play at the Civil Square at ELEMENTS and on October 10 at 4pm you’ll find the Saturday Night Jazz Orchestra, Michael Schiefel and BConnected at the same venue. Make sure you drop by the jazz photo exhibition by William Ellis and Elaine Liu at the West Kowloon shopping mall too.
